   A dear friend of mine :: Matt Willett :: (love you friend!) is a dj on a pirate radio station in Buffalo NY called 94.9 WTF radio. You can catch him late night under the alias Dj Anonymosh. but him telling me about this led me to look into it. Initially I was just trying to find some recordings of his show so I could hear him and what he has been playing but happily it led me to this:

my friend Logan and I were talking about how mean and aggressive people in the American scene are. Like they are all really territorial over trends and looks and music and art and everthing like  "this is mine. I started it. I am real and everyone else is a fake fake phony poser"  and well. we just think its sad and dumb because so long as you like/love/adore/feel it then it doesnt matter. fashion and noise is always coming and going. there is no secret club. it belongs to no one. and at this point NOTHING IS NEW.



I am pretty sure anything we do over here London and Japan and a handful of other places have been doing for a way long time. so Lose the 'tude dudes!
 it just makes you look insecure and sucky. BLAAH. I HATE YOU OVER AGGRESIVE BIKE RIDE'N VEGAN TATTOOED XXX GAGED EAR RAT TAIL THICK RIMMED GLASSES fuckers who think you started everything. its all just A) for a good cause B) for a good time C)just for fun. and none of those things needs to me guarded and kept from being shared so suck it fucktards you dont own it. you just wish you did because you know that you are just doing what you saw your older brother do back in tha day and you dont want people to know that you didnt think of it yourself. ugh. but apart of everything I am saying right now is contradicting a small part of my point. so just never mind. forget it. i dont know how to properly say what I mean. shh.

In fact I was quite pissed for I saw her as another bimbo bitch scene queen stealing real artist and fashion lovers style but,now:
I couldnt resist. and I feel she truly is genuine as an artist.
not only is she a pop star but she is a performance artist.
I get. it. and i love it. sooomuch.

and its cool that she is famous. for so long performance art as been laughed at and labeled quite often as bizarre. normally to bizarre to be fame worthy.
the paris hiltons of the world just cant cope.
and then along comes lady gaga.

they are my favorite thing happening in the art world right now.

Salem is John Holland Jack Donoghue and Heather Marlatt( or is it Marlott?)

John used to be a speedballen crackhead and prostitute

while Jack and Heather are are school kids

the trio is from michigan/chicago

influenced by Hip-hop, Juke, Death Metal and Classical

Bleakness and Darkness is what threads it all together

by darkness I mean both the literal sense of being in the dark as well as dark as in scary morbid twisted

Alot of writers try to put them in the Goth catagory but I dont think they like that and I understand why.

but by Goth if it is to mean Gothic as in the style that came into style around the time Maccbeth and what not, I think it is a completely suitable label. but if by goth they intend the newer 21st century marilyn manson freak show shit....nah. not reallly.....freak show..um actually ya. that could work too. but me freak is a bit harsh. i would rather call it real. or maybe freaky but not freak.

honestly I have never heard music that made me feel so good in my life. Literally like Im on some sort of drug. SALEM's music makes me feel a million things that I cannot even describe.. and they get into the dark parts of my head that I try to avoid. but with them it doesnt scare me. It just makes me feel alive. and ok. numb. maybe? I dont know. It makes me feel like sinking into the ground

really though. i think it is important to listen to the music without watching the videos to go with them as well. Let your mind make up its own thoughts images emotions to go along with the sound.
